Fall is a great time to bring color and interest to the grounds of a property.

When the Harley Davidson plant in North Kansas City approached True North about beautifying their property for the fall season, True North set to work to create the perfect landscape design for the famous motorcycle manufacturer.

Jason Kanak, True North Outdoor’s Registered Landscape Architect, created a landscape design Harley Davidson’s facility manager loved.

His concept for Harley centered on a sustainable landscape featuring fall foliage and a plant pallet of more than 400 native Midwestern varieties, including Pin Oaks, Red Sunset Maples, Blue Spruce, Knock Out Roses, Carl Forester Reed Grass, Ink Berry Holly and Variegated Red-Twig Dogwood and more than 100 tons of Missouri Rock.

Harley Davidson had a hard and fast deadline for the install because of a VIP meeting at the plant. More than 100 trees were delivered extremely late and didn’t arrive until 6 p.m. the night before the big meeting. Led by Mark Nelson, Account Manager, True North’s dedicated crews sprung into action once they did arrive and worked through the night to finish just before sunrise – and just in time for the big meeting.

The facility is a major draw for fans and lovers of Harley Davidson nationwide. Their factory tours book months in advance. The 358,000-square-foot Harley-Davidson Vehicle and Powertrain Operations in Kansas City, Mo. was built in 1998.
Kansas City employees produce the Sportster®, Dyna®, V-Rod® and Street families of motorcycles from fabrication and finishing through final assembly.
