The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art
Our teams work tirelessly to ensure the grounds not only look their best for the entire year but they are agronomically sound. Using our Bio Centric approach we have reduced annual plant replacements, generated a healthier soil profile and significantly reduced the irrigation bills.
The key to success in our Bio Centric approach has been the reduction in overall irrigation usage. Maintaining green roof areas means that a lot of water has to be applied to the landscape during the summer months to ensure the plant materials look their best. Our irrigation department has reduced the irrigation usage by 12 million gallons since 2021.
Over the past two years these savings have added up dramatically allowing the client to use those funds on other capital improvement projects. Again, we love our relationship with The Nelson Atkins and look forward to continuing to impact not only the landscape but working towards sustainability on all fronts! Take a tour of the grounds sometime soon and enjoy everything they have to offer, you will not regret it.
