Does curb appeal matter?
Curb appeal refers to the attractiveness and overall aesthetic appeal of a property as seen from the street. It is the initial glimpse that customers and visitors get when they approach your home. A well-maintained and visually appealing exterior can significantly enhance your property’s value and leave a lasting positive impression.
Focus Energy on the Entrance
If budget doesn’t allow for big installs throughout the property, the main place you should focus your effort is the front entrance.
The entryway is the gateway to your property, so it should exude warmth and welcome. Start by ensuring everything is in excellent condition including planters, beds and any signage. Enhance the first impression visitors have with tasteful and well-maintained landscaping, including potted plants, a neatly trimmed lawn, and a clearly defined pathway or sidewalk. Adding outdoor lighting can create a cozy and inviting ambiance, especially in the evenings.
Landscaping Covers a Multitude of Imperfections
Well-designed and maintained landscaping can dramatically enhance the curb appeal of any property and make up for even the least attractive of building facades.
When we work with a new property landscape design, we start by cleaning up any overgrown shrubs, weeds, or debris. We trim trees and hedges to ensure they are neat and visually pleasing. Lastly, we incorporate colorful flowers and plants that complement the architectural style of your property and are native to the climate. Always integrated into our design is a discussion of how to sustainably water and irrigate the beds. Adding mulch or rocks to flower beds can provide a polished and finished look.
